March 21, 2022 – New York, NY - Muni Long, the most buzzed-about, streamed and sought-after independent artist in the R&B/hip-hop music landscape today, has partnered with Def Jam Recordings through her Supergiant Records label, it was announced today by Def Jam chairman & CEO Tunji Balogun, who personally oversaw the signing.
Co-managed by Rashad Tyler and Chris Anokute, Muni has taken the world by storm with her history-making platinum breakthrough smash “Hrs & Hrs” racking up over 150 million streams, peaking in the Top 5 at Apple Music, #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 and now sitting at #3 at Urban radio and hitting the Top 10 at Rhythm radio.
“It has been a lifelong goal of mine to be able to bring my gifts to the world. The video was the #1 R&B Video at Apple Music, and Top 3 on the U.S. Shazam Chart. Over 1.3 Million TikTok videos have been created, a number that is growing daily. Before her stirring, striking, soulful signature style took the world by storm on “Hrs and Hrs,” Muni Long spent a decade as one of the best-kept behind-the-curtain secret weapons in the industry. Her journey as a much-in-demand songwriter, co-mingling R&B, rap, and pop, resulted in a diverse catalog of hits accumulated by Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Chris Brown, Ariana Grande, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, and Selena Gomez, to name a few.
But after a series of intimate and open conversations, she decided to level up as a creator and actualize her innermost ambitions. Vero Beach, FL native Priscilla Renea adopted the name Muni Long and embarked as a solo artist. “Priscilla is the name I was born with,” she says. “I always wanted to be Muni Long though.
