What's Left For 2006?
October 19, 2006

2006 was a great year for Def Jam Recordings, scoring hit records with Ne-Yo, Rihanna, Rick Ross, and LL Cool J to name a few. However, the year is not over yet...

December brings new albums from Young Jeezy (December 12), Bobby Valentino (December 12), and Ghostface (December 19), as well as the Def Jam debut from Nas (December 19)!

Get ready!!!

COMMENTS:
I mean, I really like the lineup of folks that they have left for the '06, particularly Nas, Ghostface, Young Jeezy, and Jay-Z. However, I'm with a lot of people on this post whereas I feel like the main person that should be getting his album put out REAL soon is Joe Budden. If he's not the absolute best rapper that Def Jam has on its roster, then he's definitely top 5 and is deserving of THE GROWTH to be released. I sincerely hope that he comes out early in '07 since he was not a priority in the '05 or '06. Whether his first album sold or not, there wasn't enough push with that album anyway because with him having "Pump It Up" playing everywhere and anywhere, he should've received more support. It's not like he's some trash artist that just doesn't deserve to be on the label anymore. Hook him up with some more producers, including staying with White Boy and get some bangers from Just Blaze, and he will be just fine. Just stop blackballing the dude for God's sake!!!

im sorry but i think def jam needs to get there shit together. There are alot of talented artists and they are on the backburner because of other artists INCLUDING jay! Whoever is in charge of promoting certain artists need to get fired!!! If the promoters were really fans of that particular artist than i think things would be better. Fans do better promoting!!!!!!!!

It was a good look signing Lady of Sovereign, its about time that the female mcee' status is back on the scene. I really want to see the impact she will leave Hip Hop being that she has been dubbed the female version of "Eminem" I quoted this from BurnLounge... Though there is another female "Superproducer/Artist" named "PHOBIA" she's the truth, been in the game since 96.... She's crazy in the booth and her track making ability is unheard of... Get ready to face your fears in 07...
