MTV today announced the highly anticipated return of “House of Style” with brand new host Iggy Azalea on August 4. Featuring weekly episodes in the lead-up to the August 24 broadcast of the 2014 “MTV Video Music Awards,” the series, presented exclusively by Unilever’s Caress®, Degree Women® and TRESemmé®, will live on Houseofstyle.MTV.omand include extensions across mobile, social and television, including a 30-minute VMA fashion special on Tuesday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. The news comes on the heels of Iggy receiving seven VMA Nominations including Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Best Collaboration
“The biggest impact that ‘House of Style’ had on pop culture is its ability to make fashion fun and interesting to fans who are both diehard fashionistas or not at all,” said Iggy Azalea. “I am so excited to bring back this iconic show for another generation of teenagers.”
Throughout the short-form eight-episode season, Azalea will take viewers from Los Angeles’ best vintage stores to music video sets with Rita Ora and designer Jeremy Scott. With digital platforms serving as the starting gate for all activity, “House of Style” will chronicle how the fashion industry evolves alongside music and technology and brings a community together. Exploring the symbiotic relationship between music and fashion, the series will connect fans with celebrity style setters and designers to explore new trends.
The series will culminate during the 2014 “MTV Video Music Awards” when “House of Style” and Azalea bring fans live into the action with the first-of-its-kind live “show within a show.” Presented by Unilever’s Caress®, Degree Women® and TRESemmé®, viewers will see commentary from Iggy in real-time on all things VMAs – from the performances to red carpet style hits and more – interspersed throughout the VMA Pre-Show from 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. ET/PT and the VMA broadcast from 9:00 -11:00 p.m. ET/PT. Following the VMAs, on Tuesday, August 26, “House of Style” will air a special VMA fashion episode that will premiere on MTV at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Iggy Azalea is clearly that girl.”
After years of honing her signature style on hip-hop’s underground circuit, Iggy Azalea has burst onto the charts and emerged as the breakout story of 2014. Her smash hit, “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX, rocketed to #1, breaking airplay and Spotify records along the way. After an astounding 7 weeks at #1, Iggy Azalea made history on the Billboard Hot 100 as “Fancy,” rewrote the record for the longest-leading No. 1 by a female rapper. The original “House of Style” series ran on MTV from 1989-2000 and helped launch the careers of hosts including Cindy Crawford, Rebecca Romijn and Molly Sims. The first-of-its-kind series spotlighted the cross-section of fashion and music and featured segments with everyone from Madonna to Anna Wintour to DIY segments with Todd Oldham. House of Style was rebooted in 2012 as a digitally driven series with host Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls and featured a look at Paris fashion week and a groundbreaking segment with Laura Jane Grace who opened up her closet and discussed the struggles of being a trans woman.
